How to Free up Internal Storage Space on Your Android

  Anyone knows how fast an Android device can remain out of storage space because of apps, games, music, videos and the browsers cache. Also many devices in the lower range only offer 8 to 16 GB of storage, which is not quite enough given that the Operating System alone takes a lot on its own. There are many cases where devices have 200GB of storage space and it’s still not enough, in fact there is no limit of storage space as people will wait until it’s all filled up and only then they will start to look for ways to free up storage, but no one wants to delete music or photos, so how can you gain some extra storage space? Here are a few tips on how to free up internal storage space on your android:

Delete downloaded content;

Each Android device has a download folder, similar to the one on Windows. Everything you download gets store there, photos, videos, documents and any other file your friends send you on social media or you save from websites and most probably almost everything in that folder is useless to you. Look for “My Files” in the apps menu and look for the download folder.

Clear the cache;

Most apps use cached data to offer a better experience when using those specific apps. Cached data can save you some time while waiting for the app to load but over time it can gather quite a bit of space and if you have a lot of apps, adding up all that space can give you a big number. Also clearing the cache can fix many Android issues which can be frustrating. To clear the cache for all apps you must go to Settings > Storage and then tap on Cached data. You will notice that some settings and passwords are removed, if you want to avoid this for specific apps, you can clear cache for specific apps like so: Settings > Applications > Application manager.

Google Photos

It is a great way to free up storage that photos are taking up. You can upload all of your photos to Google and it won’t even count as Google drive storage. First of all you must turn Back up & sync on, so head over to Settings > Back up & sync. After each photo is safely stored on the cloud you can delete the photos on your device.

The microSD card

This can be used to store apps on it. If you have a device that lets you use a microSD card then go to Settings > Applications > Application manager and choose which app you want to move. There may be other ways to clean up space, like deleting apps and games that you don’t use but if you follow these tips you will have plenty of storage space.
