Converting PDF to DOC, Free of Cost

It is well known that a DOC file (document) is meant to be viewed using a word processor software while a PDF file (portable document format) can be viewed using special software. The DOC file format is an improvement over the plain text formats like TXT. Similarly, the PDF format is an improvement over the DOC and XLS (spreadsheet) format, with better quality, features and security. Since the PDF format is a later arrival than DOC and has better security, it is quite difficult to create or edit PDF files without using expensive software. Therefore, many users prefer to convert a PDF into a DOC (or RTF) file and edit as needed. Such conversion software usually uses the OCR technology (Optical character recognition) to images of typed, printed or even handwritten text into computerised text. There are mainly two methods to convert PDF files to DOC. Firstly, some applications are available on the internet which can be downloaded for free and used to convert files. You can use the Office Convert application, but files larger than 50 MB cannot be processed. Such programs have file size constraints. Other applications are also available, like Convert Pdf to Doc Text, but such programs do not convert files that are longer than 30 pages without making you purchase a premium version. This is the most reasonable method available for free, since most users don’t need to convert very large files. Many software applications are available free to try. Some good programs in this category are Foxit Reader, PDF to Word Converter by GIRDAC InfoTechnologies and Quick PDF Converter etc. But these applications do not convert more than a couple of pages for free. It is just meant to be a sample for a prospective buyer. The price of such try and buy software is usually more than US $50. Another good way to convert PDF to DOC is by using free of cost tools available online. Websites like Online2pdf.com, pdf2doc.com, ILovePdf.com and ConvertOnlineFree.com provide free interfaces right on their home pages. You can simply upload files by selecting through file explorer or by drag and drop. Then click on the command button to download your converted file. But again this method has limitations like file size and data security. The above two methods can be used to convert files without paying anything at all, but are useful mostly for personal or small offices. Professional file conversion on a long term basis requires thousands of files of varying sizes and several features. This cannot be done without purchasing (or subscribing) a suitable software.
